The Natural Beauty of Wood
Craftsmanship
Our work is mainly accent or functional art pieces created from wood or stained glass. We occaionally use a combination of other media.
I am inspired by nature with an intent to showcase natural beauty. I use a lifetime of experience in combination with an ability to envision possibilities. I look for types of wood that have certain characteristics such as color, grain pattern or hardness. I then create pieces that will allow people to use and enjoy them.
Darcy is a self-taught stained-glass artist, She uses the Tiffany technique with copper foil. She enjoys creating panels for display in windows and other locations. Hanging a stained-glass piece in a window is to bring color, light and tranquility into the room. Whatever the theme of the piece is - art deco, traditional, contemporary, abstract, flowers, animals, birds or landscapes - it will bring a relaxed ambience with it.
Together our life experience has led us to this creative journey. For what we are now creating we had to learn specific skill sets. Wood turning and stained glass techniques came easy to us. Trust in our artistic abilities came a bit harder. Being juried into Kentucky Crafted artisans guild is a huge honor and a confirmation of our talents.
We collaborate from time to time on projects. Together we create truly unique combinations of glass and wood art.
